The Branch Manager is responsible for carrying out the day to day activities of the branch under the supervision of the Regional Manager.
Responsibilities to include:
- Open and close the branch daily – open to customers 7am-5pm
- Manage a team of inside sales, delivery drivers, and warehouse employees
- Oversee showroom and counter sales for branch
- Support outside sales representatives
- Responsible for Cash control including daily bank drops and P&L for the branch
- Control and manage incoming and outgoing inventory (work with purchasing manager and central warehouse manager)
- Oversee ongoing maintenance of equipment – trucks, forklifts, etc
- Oversee daily and ongoing housekeeping/maintenance of warehouse, yard, and building grounds
- Lead and monitor Safety Program
Activities required to carry out responsibilities:
- Work with Management to set and carry out goals for the branch
- Perform opening and closing duties of branch
- Manage inside sales, drivers, warehouse employees hours and support/develop employees
- Work with purchasing manager to stock and receive inventory according to company procedures. Monitor and perform inventory control. Perform cycle counts.
- Assist walk in/phone in customers – answer phones, take orders, process quotes, put together submittal packages, pull product and load customer vehicles
- Schedule and monitor delivery routes
- Help load delivery trucks. Pre-pull orders whenever possible.
- Carry out daily forklift/truck inspections.
- Maintain DOT servicing, preventive maintenance, and ongoing maintenance of delivery trucks and equipment
- Conduct monthly safety/training meeting
- Assist in yearly inventories
- Ensure that branch (showroom, warehouse and yard) are kept neat, orderly, safe, and clean
- Heavy lifting, standing for long periods, climbing up and down on trucks – required for position
- Many other activities and duties are required for this position
Job Requirements
- Warehouse/inventory/logistics experience
- Management experience
- Construction experience/knowledge of construction products preferred
- College degree preferred, but not required
