Job Description
At Jarco Supply, the Commercial Driver/Warehouse position is a valuable team member whose primary responsibility is accurately pulling orders and safely delivering products to jobsites and customer offices. This team member must always appropriately represent Jarco Supply through professional appearance, actions, communication, and customer service. This position will report to the Branch Manager.
Responsibilities to include:
- Accurately pulling customer orders
- Safely loading customer pickups and deliveries
- Safely, timely, and efficiently delivering customer orders to jobsites and offices
- Accurately, safely, and efficiently transport intra-company transfers and vendor pickups
- Comply with NCDOT laws and truck driving rules as well as all Jarco Supply policies and procedures
- Daily monitoring of delivery truck for safety and mechanical issues
Activities required to carry out responsibilities:
- Accurately pull customer delivery orders
- Safely and efficiently load delivery trucks
- Safely, timely, and efficiently deliver customer orders to jobsites and offices
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules. Communicate throughout the day with the branch and with the upcoming customer deliveries.
- Assist as per company policies to offload product at customer location
- Assist in the warehouse as directed to include pulling and loading customer pickup orders, stocking shelves, unloading vendor deliveries, housekeeping, etc.
- Fully and accurately fill out and promptly turn in all paperwork – sales orders, purchase orders, transfers, etc
- Operate Forklifts and other equipment per Jarco Safety standards
- Daily monitoring of the delivery truck for any mechanical and safety issues. Ensure proper prenventive maintenance is followed. Communicate any issues to management. Fill out and turn in driver manifests as required daily.
- Assist in cycle counts and yearly inventories
- Housekeeping - ensure that showroom, warehouse, and yard are kept neat, orderly, safe, and clean
- Heavy lifting, standing for long periods, climbing up and down on trucks – required for position
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements/Skills Needed
- Trucking Experience – flatbed or box
- Must have clean driving record
- Must pass pre-employment drug test, criminal background check , and have NCDOT Medical Card
